L'Oiseau by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, an avian figure of archaic simplicity, is reminiscent of the unpretentious artefacts of Nordic folk art. Its form attractively enriches interiors without the cuteness or even tackiness so commonly associated with animal figures. The figure is milled from a single block of the natural lightweight material cork with its characteristic irregular surface pattern and soft and pleasant texture.
The limited and numbered edition of L'Oiseau in cork is available in addition to the existing versions in maple or ceramic.
