Foscarini Twiggy Floor Lamp

Foscarini and Marc Sadler’s shared passion for research into new technologies has given rise to highly iconic projects, including Twiggy, an arched floor lamp made of composite material on a lacquered fibreglass base. Twiggy is a slender, natural symbol in space and thanks to this slender nature it can be marked with strong colours, to harmonise with any kind of environment or taste. The frame is both hard-wearing and extraordinarily flexible. Twiggy’s stand is made up of linear sections, exactly like a fishing rod or the support for a tent. It curves harmoniously and a simple system of counterweights, in a space above the diffuser, allows the height to be adjusted.
Twiggy’s base is also inspired by the image of a fishing rod set in the ground, with a simple, light disc that does not take up much space, easy to be inserted anywhere, even by sliding it under a table, a chair or a carpet. The diffuser guarantees direct lighting in the area underneath the lamp and - thanks to the transparency of the upper protection disk - diffuses a cosy ambient light.
Floor lamp with direct and indirect light. Diffuser and rod made of fibreglass-based composite material and liquid coated. Translucent polycarbonate upper diffuser disc, PMMA lower diffuser disc with polyprismatic internal surface. Epoxy powder coated metal round base. Supplied with 4 counter-weights to be inserted in the purpose-provided seat above the diffuser to adjust its height. Additional arc-extending rods available upon request; the transparent cable is fitted with a dimmer which can be used both to adjust the level of luminous intensity gradually or as the ON/OFF switch.
