Knoll Washington Skin Chair
Designer: David Adjaye, 2013
This is an original licensed Knoll piece.
David Adjaye's cantilevered chairs establish a play between propping and balancing, so that they are simultaneously functional and sculptural. Washington Skin is a colorful solid, while its inverted counterpoint, Washington Skeleton, is reduced to a fine geometric lattice sharing the same envelope.
Injection molded, glass reinforced nylon cantilevered chair. The chair's shell and legs are cast in three parts and are connected using mortise and tenon joinery and
stainless steel fasteners. The unique leg design is reinforced internally with a cast aluminum brace. Features four integral glides that elevate and protect the leg profile.
Note: The Skeleton chair in painted aluminum and nylon are suitable for outdoor use.
Designer’s signature and the KnollStudio logo are located under the seat.
