B&B Italia Erica Outdoor Furniture Collection

The Erica series of outdoor sofas, chairs and armchairs stands out for its lightness and refined design that make it ideal for both public and residential settings, delivering ergonomic comfort together with strength for outdoor use. The proposal comprises linear sofas in different sizes and depths, sofas featuring a slightly curved design ideal for creating dynamic and convivial solutions for outdoor relaxation, a dormeuse also characterized by a curved design, a day bed with particularly generous proportions equipped with a high back and integrated headrest. Common elements to the entire series are the powder-coated die cast aluminium frames which offer lightness and durability, the interlacing made of polypropylene ribbons designed for outdoor use, and the foot design which provides a sense of visual and formal continuity. The seat cushions upholstery, embellished with a decorative profile, grants an appearance of natural softness making them particularly inviting. The refined shades of the frame and interlacing are complemented by a vast range of cushion covers, in an array of tones and designs, all co ordinating with each other.

Sustainability

1. Waterproof polyester canvas covering

2. 100% recycled and biodegradable PET fibers

The fibres used in the Erica back and seat cushionsbrings a new approach to sustainability without compromising our industry-leading performance and comfort throughout the life cycle of the sofa. This innovation lies within the makeup of the fibers. The filling fibres are made out of 100% recycled PET and break down at a highly accelerated rate in landfills, oceans and wastewater because they have been optimized to be more appetizing to the naturally occurring microbes in these specific environments. These microbes enable fibers to return to materials found in nature, leaving behind components like water, CO2, methane, biomass and humus – a common, natural component of potting soil.

3. Polyurethane with different densities

4. Seat belts
