Innes Heritage Prints
Donald Innes opened his photography studio in Hessle in 1947. He spent his early career as a photo-journalist and by the mid 1950's he headed up one of the most successful freelance photographic press agencies in the North of England. Each of the pictures documented everyday life in Hull and the surrounding areas of Hessle and other East Yorkshire Villages, providing a unique insight in to people's lives during the 1950's and 1960's. Images include old sporting shots of Hull City Football Club and Hull Speedway and of course Hull's booming fishing industry, with shots of fish being landed from trawlers at Hull's docks. The Donald Innes Heritage Collection has been lovingly restored and brought back to life on beautiful archive quality fine art paper by his son Ivor and the team at Innes.
