The ellipsoid pendant is based on Oivind Slaatto’s original Patera design from 2015, launched as a modern take on the classic chandelier with its Fibonacci sequence-based structure.

Like the Patera, the Patera Oval is made up of diamond-shaped cells of which each one is carefully designed to reflect glare-free light when viewed from an angle of above 40 degrees, all while it provides a 360 degree illumination that bathes surrounding spaces, people and objects in a natural, even and pleasant light.

The pendant emits a downward directed light, as well as an upward directed light that atmospherically illuminates the ceiling above.

Patera Oval is a poetic new take on the circular Patera, which furthermore caters to spaces with limited ceiling height. Yet, it is just as beautiful to behold from all angles when hanging high in more spacious venues.

The pendant is a glowing ellipsoid made up of diamond-shaped cells. Each cell has been carefully designed to capture light and to conceal the light source from viewing angles above 40 degrees. Below 40 degrees the lamp allows direct, downward light. The round opening underneath provides direct light with a soft transition towards the reflected light. The pendant can be used with or without a diffuser plate, depending on whether the view of the light source creates an unwanted glare or not.
