Fresh Colours, Sustainable Materials, Same Eames Spirit
Vitra Eames Accessories 2025
In late 2025, Vitra has introduced new colours and materials across the Eames collection — keeping these timeless designs as relevant and appealing today as when they were first created. Each update celebrates the Eames’ spirit of innovation while embracing more sustainable choices.
Eames Wooden Stools & LTR Side Tables: Now available in European Chestnut, complementing the rich dark Walnut already loved by design enthusiasts. Both now have the matt water-based lacquer.
Hang It All: Brighten your space with a refreshed palette of warm and cool tones, offering even more playful combinations.
Eames Elephant: The plastic Elephant is now crafted from recycled household plastic, bringing sustainability to a beloved classic. The wooden Elephant is newly available in Walnut and European Chestnut, both finished in an eco-conscious water-based lacquer that gives a soft, contemporary matt sheen.
Eames House Whale: Now finished with the same new water-based lacquer, enhancing its presence while preserving its iconic form.
These updates honour the legacy of Charles and Ray Eames while ensuring the collection evolves with today’s values of sustainability, quality, and timeless design.
New finishes for 2025
Vitra Eames House Bird
For more than fifty years, a wooden bird has stood at the heart of the living room in the Eames House — a cherished piece of American folk art collected by Charles and Ray during their travels. Frequently featured in the couple’s photographs, it has become one of the most recognisable accessories in their world of design.
Today, the Eames House Bird is available in black or white lacquered ash, as well as in walnut. Each version is carefully crafted to highlight the natural wood grain, giving this iconic figure its distinctive presence and lively charm.

Eames Stools
In 1960, the Eames Office was commissioned by Time Inc. to design the interiors of three lobbies at New York’s Rockefeller Center. For this project, Charles and Ray created the legendary Lobby Chairs along with a series of solid wood stools.
The stools were ingeniously designed with seats concave enough for comfort, yet shallow enough to also hold a teacup without tipping — making them equally suitable as occasional tables. Each lathe-turned stool is distinguished by the unique profile of its shaft, giving every model a sculptural presence as well as practical versatility.
For 2025, the wooden stools are updated with a Natural Chestnut and Walnut, both with a matt oiled finish.

Vitra Eames Elephant
In 1945, Charles and Ray Eames designed a playful toy elephant in plywood, though it never entered production. A single prototype was shown at the Museum of Modern Art, New York in 1946 and remains in the Eames family archives to this day.
After a first limited edition in 2007, Vitra introduced the Eames Elephant in plywood to serial production in 2018. It is available in two elegant versions: a dark European walnut and a light European chestnut, both with a matt water-based lacquer finish.
For younger design lovers, the Eames Elephant RE is crafted from recycled post-industrial plastic, making it both sustainable and child-friendly and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. A smaller RE version is also available, offered in a variety of lively colours — perfect for play or as a cheerful design accent.

Eames House Whale
A beloved feature of the original Eames collection, the wooden whale — over two metres long — was an anonymous piece of North American folk art that Charles and Ray cherished. It held a permanent place in the Eames Office and even appeared in iconic photo shoots, including the very first images of the Lounge Chair.
Vitra’s smaller-scale reproduction, the Eames House Whale, is carefully crafted from ash wood and hand-finished with sustainable water-based lacquer, preserving the charm of the original while reflecting today’s values of craftsmanship and responsibility.

Eames LTR
Designed by Charles and Ray Eames, the LTR table is a small, versatile occasional piece that the couple used extensively in their own home — individually, in pairs, or grouped together. Some held treasured objects from their travels, while others served simply and elegantly as side tables beside chairs and sofas.
Today, the LTR remains just as adaptable. Its base is offered in stainless steel or black or white powder-coated finishes, while the tops are available in solid wood, linoleum, or high-pressure laminate — making it as practical as it is timeless.

Hang it All
"Hang it all" is a cheerful alternative to boring coat hooks. The wooden balls are now finished with water-based lacquers, combining sustainability with lasting beauty. The Black Ash and Walnut versions feature a sophisticated matt finish, while the other five colourways retain their vibrant glossy sheen.
