Tufty-Time 20 represents the contemporary evolution of Tufty-Time, the iconic sofa system designed by Patricia Urquiola in 2005. Twenty years after its launch, the system has been reinterpreted while maintaining the essential characteristics that have made it a great success, including modularity, enveloping comfort and compositional flexibility. The volumes, padding and seat height have been redesigned to offer even greater comfort, while the introduction of a curved module expands the system's potential, giving rise to even more fluid and convivial configurations, ideal for both residential and contract spaces. Particular attention has been paid to the theme of circularity. Tufty-Time 20 is in fact fully disassemblable, ensuring that all the components can be given a second life at the end of the product's life cycle.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of one of our best-selling designs, B&B Italia is introducing Tufty-Time 20, the contemporary evolution of the iconic modular system designed by Patricia Urquiola. Since its debut in 2005, Tufty-Time has redefined the concepts of comfort and modularity, merging the spirit of Chesterfield and capitonné traditions with a modern, relaxed lifestyle.
Twenty years after its creation, Tufty- Time continues to be one of B&B Italia's greatest successes. The system has been reinterpreted while preserving its essential characteristics: modularity, enveloping comfort, and flexibility qualities that have made it an icon.
In terms of volume, the padding and seat height have been redesigned to ensure even greater comfort. The structure has been updated with a sustainable end-of-life approach, incorporating from the outset the possibility of complete disassembly.
The addition of a curved module has enhanced and expanded the system’s potential, creating more convivial and fluid settings that naturally adapt to new spaces. While respecting the integrity of the original project, Tufty- Time is renewed with contemporary production techniques, remaining a design example capable of meeting both today’s and tomorrow’s needs.

Since 2005, Tufty-Time has evolved through multiple iterations: Tufty-Time, Tufty-Time in leather version, Tufty-Too and Tufty-Time ‘15. Now this iconic modular system steps into the future, remaining true to its innovative spirit while offering even greater versatility, sustainability, and comfort.
A Refreshed Design For New Possibilities
Tufty-Time 20 introduces 14 modules, offering even more versatile, fluid, and curvilinear compositions. A major innovation is the introduction of the curved module, which allows for more organic layouts, ideal for both residential and contract spaces – such as hotels and offices – encouraging face-to-face interaction and conviviality.

Designed with a strong focus on circularity, Tufty-Time 20 has been engineered to be fully disassemblable, ensuring that all the components and materials can be given a second life at the end of the product life cycle. Tufty-Time 20 reinforces B&B Italia’s commitment to circular economy and responsible environmental behavior.
Enhanced Comfort And Innovative Materials
The new structure provides an even more inviting seating experience, thanks to the introduction of a recycled polyester wadding lining from PET between polyurethane and fabric, which delivers a softer, more cushioned feel. Additionally, the seat height has been increased by 2 cm, enhancing overall comfort.
Complementing the seating system, the collection introduces new coffee tables made entirely in oak wood, or with oak wood frames and tops in brill anodized aluminum, available in various sizes – including a version designed to fit seamlessly between the sofa’s modular elements.
