The CH280 is a modular sofa system by Hans J. Wegner, built around three elements; an armrest section, a middle section, and a footstool which can be arranged in countless configurations. Form a classic corner sofa, an extended run of seating, or a more open linear arrangement without a corner turn; the middle section even works as a standalone lounge chair.
Characteristically for Wegner, the frame (solid oak in a soaped, oiled or lacquer finish) is left exposed with slightly curved backrest slats that give the sofa a robust, yet lightweight presence. It is a design that reads well from every angle. The corner and middle modules connect via a simple coupling bracket, allowing lengthwise or 90° configurations. The footstool sits freely alongside.
Hand-upholstered cushions with removable covers make the sofa easy to maintain and the broad textile range means each module can be covered independently to allow mixing materials for a more personal result. Alongside the sofa, the CH086 Coffee Table, available in three heights with fold-out extension leaves, makes a natural companion to the series.
