    Industrial Precision, Natural Comfort

    Designed in 1970 as part of an exclusive office furniture range, the CH101 brings together stainless steel and hand-upholstered leather in a combination that remains as compelling today as it was then. Wegner believed the two materials could coexist without compromise - and the CH101 is the proof.

    The chair is built over an inner frame of solid beechwood with two arm elements upholstered by hand to the highest quality standards. Seat and back cushions have a foam core wrapped in a down layer for dimensional stability and comfort. The leather covering is removable, with discreetly placed air holes.

    The Stainless Steel Frame

    A flat stainless steel frame runs as a longitudinal rail, joined to skid legs at each end. Stainless steel also features in the armrests, where it both supports the upholstery and covers it front and back - creating a precise, considered contrast between the cold precision of the metal and the warmth of the leather.

    The CH100 series was relaunched in 2008 to mark the 100th anniversary of Carl Hansen & Søn, and represents some of Wegner's finest work in stainless steel.

    Loke - Pigmented Leather

    • Loke is buffed and pigmented cowhide. This type of leather is known for its durable and easy to clean surface. The leather is buffed which means that the leather’s surface is sanded, removing all the natural marks and errors. Subsequently, the leather is coated and embossed to give the leather a uniform and smooth appearance. Pigmented leather, therefore, is very suitable for both private and public environments where furniture is subjected to more wear and tear.

    Thor - Semi-Aniline Leather

    • Semi-aniline leather is cowhide which has a thinner layer of surface protection than pigmented leather which makes it softer but also less resistant to dirt and stains. This type of leather, like aniline leather, is characterised by its natural appearance and good seating comfort. Semi-aniline leather is recommended when it is important to have a practical type of leather without forfeiting the soft and comfortable characteristics.

    Sif - Aniline Leather

    • Aniline leather is cowhide without any form of surface protection. Aniline leather is made from the highest quality rawhide and is characterised by its exclusive and soft surface as well as excellent seating comfort. As the leather is untreated, natural markings such as insect bites and scars will be part of the leather’s unique appearance. Aniline leather is recommended for individuals who want the purest quality and the best comfort and value the exclusive patina effect of natural leather.

    Terra - Soft Aniline Leather

    • TERRA® is an extremely soft aniline leather featuring a silky-matt surface with a velvety tactile feel that evokes one’s senses, offering a touch of modern sophisticated elegance. The amazing array of rich hues capture the beauty of nature. A selection of both eye-catching and natural earthy tones, ranging from beautiful shades of green and yellow to bordeaux and brown nuances that create a gorgeous nature-inspired colour scheme, curated by Norm Architects. Clay, sand and orchre combined with silt and soil evoke images of sandy deserts and rocky landscapes. A unique serene symphony of harmonious colours with an exclusive and soothing appearance, pleasing to the eye.
