From Prototype to Production

The Asymmetric Chaise is the most sculptural piece of Harry Bertoia's 1952 wire collection, and it remained a prototype until 2005, when Knoll put the design into full production with help from Bertoia's family. Its asymmetric form bends welded steel rods into a chaise that reads as sculpture from every angle.

The frame is available in polished chrome for indoor use, or in a white Rilsan finish that is suitable for outdoor environments. A seat pad or full cover in a range of KnollTextiles can be added, and plastic glides are included to protect floors.
