A Companion Piece in Welded Steel Wire

Harry Bertoia bent industrial steel rods into open, sculptural frames for his 1952 wire collection, and this ottoman extends that idea to a piece made for everyday use. Conceived as a companion to the high-back Bertoia armchair, it shares the chair's airy welded construction and reads as sculpture in its own right, whether it sits at the foot of the chair or stands on its own.

The frame is welded from steel rods with a polished chrome finish. A full cover is stretched over the wire frame and attached with hooks, holding it neatly in place while remaining removable, and it is available in a wide range of fabrics.

Beside the armchair it serves as a footrest or additional seating; on its own, it makes a compact accent for living rooms, bedrooms and hallways.
