A Sculptural Partner to the Barcelona Chair
Created by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for the German Pavilion at the 1929 International Exhibition in Barcelona, the Barcelona Collection's pure composition came to epitomise modern architecture. The Barcelona Relax Footstool carries the same precision and meticulous attention to detail, pairing the collection's crisscross frame with a hand-welted cushion made for putting your feet up.
The cushion is formed from 16 individual squares of leather, hand-welted and hand-tufted with buttons; when specified in leather, all squares are cut from a single cowhide. It is secured to the frame by belting leather straps with edges dyed to match, so every element is resolved with the care that defines the collection.
Available in Venezia Leather (special price) and leather grades W, X, Y, Z and N, with a polished chrome or Onyx Ultra Matte frame.

Straps: attached with aluminium rivets; the stool has 7 belting support straps (the matching chair has 17); on the Onyx Ultra Matte version the belt colour is always black, on the chrome version it is specified in the order code; for Venezia and black leather upholstery the straps are dyed to match the cushion colour, for all other leathers the exposed strap sections are covered in the same upholstery leather
