    A Continuous Curve, Suspended in Cowhide

    The Knoll MR Side Chair pairs a curved tubular steel frame with a thick cowhide sling seat and back. Without conventional rear legs, its cantilevered profile leaves the space beneath open, giving the chair a light presence around a dining table or beside a desk. Leather laces secure the sling to the frame, making the construction part of the design rather than hiding it beneath padding.

    Developed during Mies van der Rohe's early experiments with tubular steel, the MR brings the flowing lines of earlier iron rocking chairs into a more pared-back form. The contrast between the slender frame and substantial cowhide gives it character from every angle, particularly when it stands away from a wall.

    Choose black, light brown or white-beige cowhide, with a polished chrome frame or an ultra-matte painted finish in Onyx, White or Dark Red.
