A Grand Prix Icon in Spring Steel

The PK22 evolved from Kjærholm’s PK25 graduation project, refined in 1956 into a split spring steel frame that improved both comfort and construction without compromising the chair’s sculptural clarity. It won the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale in 1957, a recognition that placed Kjærholm firmly on the international stage, where he has remained ever since. Low, open, and precisely proportioned, it suits calm living spaces and quiet corners as naturally as it does more considered interiors.

The wicker version replaces the upholstered seat and back with a woven natural rattan seat and back. The open weave brings a lighter visual texture to the satin-brushed stainless spring-steel frame.
