Sculptural Curves in Moulded Wood

The PK0 A lounge chair turns pressure-moulded veneer into a flowing, ribbon-like form. Designed by Poul Kjærholm in 1952 during his early time at Fritz Hansen, it explores how curved wood can create both a seat and a sculptural presence without a conventional upholstered shell.

Choose clear-lacquered Oregon pine for visible grain and a warm tone, or black coloured ash for a more graphic expression. Cinnabar-red fixtures provide a small contrast against either finish, while the open construction lets the curves remain visible from different positions around the chair. It pairs naturally with the PK60 coffee table, another Kjærholm design from the same year.
