The George Nelson Home Desk was designed in 1958 and originally conceived as a writing table — elegant, considered, and built with the same meticulous attention to material and proportion that defines Nelson’s best work. With its graceful chrome-plated metal base and characteristic colour accents, it quickly became one of his most recognised designs. Today it works equally well as a compact home office desk, a writing surface, or a considered piece of furniture in its own right.

The top surfaces are finished in high-pressure white laminate with walnut veneer side sections — a combination that balances warmth and precision. Shelf dividers in polystyrene add structure without visual weight. The swaged metal tubing base is chrome-plated, giving the desk its characteristic lightness of form.
