Montana at 3 Days of Design, Copenhagen 2025

Montana had a presence at its 2 stores in Copenhagen. The Skindergaden store has a stronger Contract focus with many work desks and storage solutions on display. The Bredgade store focuses more on Retail. There a fresh perspectives on colour, shape and design, which much more muted and toned down colours. The sets as usual were stunning and it still amazes us how the use of colour can totally change the look of the Montana pieces.
There was also a strong presence of the Panton wire shelving that is now available in new colours and sizes. We saw some lovely combinations that we will definitely suggest to clients.
Their main launch was the re-edition of the Paradigm modular sofa by Erik Rasmussen. As expected from Montana, this is being produced with removable covers and so be will be very environmentally friendly.
Jorgen Rasmussen (who passed away last October) was sadly missed this year, but his chairs and designs were ever present.
Joakim Lassen was much more conservatively dressed this year, due to the fact that it was too warm to wear a wool suit in the funky fabric being used on the Paradigm sofa. Previously he has worn co-ordinated suits to match new fabrics being launched and this has become a highlight of the show for us. Hopefully next year the tradition will be repeated.
Montana provided a lovely lunch, which was enjoyed in their outdoor courtyard amongst their stunning outdoor furniture.

Erik Jorgensen Design Classic
Paradigm Sofa
Originally designed back in 1969 by Danish designer Erik Rasmussen, Paradigm is the fore-runner of modular sofas. Paradigm retains its sculptural minimalism while embracing new functionality: discreet linking brackets, removable covers, replaceable components, and refined upholstery options. It’s a sofa that lives with you – adaptable, expandable and evolving over time.
It is easy to rearrange and adapt as your needs change and is designed to be recyclable at the end of its life. It also has EU Ecolabel certification – a mark of top-tier environmental standards and is the first sofa to receive the EU Ecolabel. However, due to UK fire regulations, the UK version is sadly not EU certified.
