A celebration of materials and form, the Eclipse Desk invites touch with its intriguing, asymmetrical shape. Developed into a table from a hand-drawn line, the design’s distinctive silhouette features a steel column that doubles as a storage container to keep desk space clutter-free.
Sculptural, functional and tactile, the Eclipse Desk is an exploration and celebration of materials and form. Designed for Audo by Fred Rigby Studio, the asymmetrical piece originated as a hand-drawn line that looked to the shape of pebbles for its design cues. Crafted from solid, dark-oiled oak polished to a highshine finish, the sweeping tabletop has intriguing convex and concave edges. It rests on a gently curved leg and a steel column, the latter of which cleverly conceals a storage bucket under its integrated wooden lid, ensuring a clutter free surface that underpins the streamlined beauty of the organic design. Imagined as both a standalone centrepiece in the middle of a room or for placement up against a wall as a more conventional piece of furniture, the intriguing form of the Eclipse Desk draws the eye and invites to touch while offering a sense of calmness that lends itself to productivity.
