The CH290 Lounge Chair was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1962 and has a quality that is immediately apparent: it is a Wegner design that has been allowed to breathe. Affectionately known as the Plank Chair — a nod to its distinctive slatted backrest — the dynamically angled legs and wide armrests are precise and considered, unmistakably his, but the removable upholstered seat and backrest cushions soften the frame into something genuinely relaxed. The slatted backrest, unique to the CH290 Series, adds a lightness and visibility that a fully upholstered back cannot achieve.
The FSC™-certified oak frame conceals nothing — the carpentry is visible and honest throughout, in the Wegner tradition. Beautiful from every angle, and comfortable enough to stay in long after you planned to get up.
