A Dining Room, Complete
Some dining sets look right in a showroom and awkward at home. This is not one of them. The CH337 and CH24 were both designed by Hans J. Wegner, both finished in white-pigmented oil, and both made from the same solid oak — so they belong together in a way that mix-and-match combinations rarely achieve. The elliptical table top draws people in naturally; the Wishbone chairs are light enough to move without thought and comfortable enough to stay in long after the meal is finished.
In white-oiled oak, the set has a pale, considered quality that works across a wide range of interiors — from open-plan kitchen-diners to more formal dining rooms. The white pigment preserves the natural tone of the oak and prevents yellowing over time, so the set will look as considered in ten years as it does today.
The CH337 Table
The CH337’s elliptical 140 × 115cm top seats four comfortably and six with ease when using an optional extension leaf — generous enough for everyday family meals, elegant enough for entertaining. The solid oak base is as considered as the top, with a structure that is sturdy without being heavy. The table is extendable: up to two optional 60cm leaves (sold separately) can be added, taking it to a table that seats six or eight when the occasion demands.
The CH24 Wishbone Chairs
Four chairs are included, each hand-woven in natural paper cord — approximately 120 metres per seat, taking a skilled craftsman around an hour to complete. The characteristic Y-shaped back is steam-bent from a single piece of wood, giving the chair a warmth and fluidity that no straight-backed alternative can match. An optional leather seat pad is available separately, particularly practical for everyday family use.
