The Biagio is one of the most quietly radical objects in the Flos archive. Designed by Tobia Scarpa in 1968, it is carved from a single block of Carrara marble — the shade, the base, and the body are all one continuous piece of stone. There are no visible fixings, no seams, no applied elements. The marble itself is the lamp.

Light passes through the thinned walls of the marble shade, giving the stone a warm, translucent glow that changes with the density of the material. No two Biagio lamps are identical — the natural veining of Carrara marble ensures each piece is unique.
