Precision Without Complexity
Designed by Oki Sato of Nendo in 2015, the NJP reworks the familiar architect lamp around the everyday movements of a desk. Two joints let the arm reach across a work surface or fold closer for reading, while the head adjusts independently to direct the light. Exposed springs at the joints make the mechanism part of the design rather than concealing how it works.
The white-painted shade interior reflects soft light across the workspace, with the LED set high inside the head to help shield it from view. An opening at the rear illuminates the upper arm and allows heat to escape. A switch on the head selects between two light levels, and an optional four-hour or eight-hour timer switches the lamp off later. This version has a freestanding steel base, with aluminium arms and head in Black, White or Aluminium Grey.
