A Stool for the Kitchen Counter
The Hven Bar Stool has the kind of presence that is easy to underestimate from a photograph. In person, the proportions are immediately right — the open, airy frame gives it a lightness that suits a kitchen island or worktop without crowding the space, while the solid oak construction and stainless steel footrail give it a solidity that will outlast most of the furniture around it. Comfortable for a morning coffee and equally at home for an evening at the counter.
Designed for use with standard kitchen worktops of approximately 90cm in height — the most common worktop height in UK kitchens. Anton Bjorsing’s design shares the same open, inviting signature as the Hven dining chair, so if you already have the chairs at your table, the stools will sit naturally alongside them.
Anton Bjorsing is a contemporary Swedish designer whose work on the Hven collection is defined by a minimalist Nordic sensibility — open frames, round corners, and an honest use of natural materials.
Choosing Your Finish
The Hven is available in three oak finishes, each with a distinct character. Untreated Oak is the most natural expression of the wood — pale, raw, and honest — but it is more susceptible to grease and staining and benefits from treatment with soap or oil before use (note: the wood will change tone when treated). Oil gives the oak a warmer, more protected finish that develops a gentle patina over time. White Oil preserves the pale, Nordic quality of the wood while offering greater protection than untreated. Contact our team if you would like guidance on which finish suits your space.
