Manufacturer: Vitra

Designer: Charles & Ray Eames 1950

This is an original genuine Vitra piece.

DSR (Dining Height Side Chair Rod Base) is a classic design distinguished by the iconic forms of its plastic seat shell in durable polypropylene and the chrome-plated wire base. The name refers to the type of seat shell and the base of the chair, which were created in 1950 by the designer couple Charles and Ray Eames. This family of chairs includes a series of other bases designed in the ensuing years. DSR is a lightweight, functional chair that fits in any interior, but is best suited for dining rooms and outdoors. DSR is not stackable.

The Eames Plastic Side Chair DSR is available in four new colour combinations of seat shell and base. Based on the colour palette designed by Charles and Ray Eames, Vitra has developed the fresh colour combinations sunlight seat shell with citron base, sea blue seat shell with sky blue base, forrest green seat shell and dark green base and pebble seat shell and Eames Seafoam Green base.

Materials: Seat shell: dyed-through, recycled polypropylene, 100% recyclable.

Base: non-stacking four-legged wire base with cross struts.

Note: due to the composition of the recycled material, the seat shell colours exhibit very subtle specks of pigment.

Dimensions: Width 46.5cm x Depth 55cm x Height 83cm (seat height: 43cm)

Please note the chairs with powder-coated bases are suitable for outdoor use.

Outdoor use: unupholstered version with powder-coated base suitable for utilisation outdoors on a temporary or seasonal basis, following care instructions. After prolonged exposure to the elements, clean and store away in a dry, sheltered place to ensure lasting use and avoid any deterioration in appearance.
