Mikado is a chair with a serene yet commanding aura — one that impresses not through visual drama but through the quality of the experience it delivers. Upholstered on all sides, with a backrest that reclines at a gentle angle via an ingeniously simple concealed mechanism, it offers a level of comfort that belies its refined silhouette.
The Five Star Base version brings Mikado to the desk and home office. Height-adjustable and mounted on double castors, it delivers the same refined Mikado seating experience in a fully functional office chair format. The armless Side Chair form pairs seamlessly with the Mikado Armchair Five Star Base for a consistent look across workspaces.
Sustainability is embedded in the design from the outset. Covers are unglued and fully removable for cleaning or replacement. The inner seat panel is made of aluminium with a high recycled content, and the backrest shell is produced from recycled post-consumer polypropylene, which can be easily separated from the foam padding during recycling. The concept of a simple exchange of components gives Mikado long-term versatility, thereby ensuring longevity.
