Designed by Morten Gøttler in 1997, the MG501 Cuba Chair elevates the folding lounge chair to a new level. Where the paper cord variant offers refinement, the original cotton webbing version has a warmer, more tactile quality - the wide, flat girths wrapping the solid oak frame to form a seat and back that gently follows the body’s contours. Natural materials, clean cotton webbing, and evident craftsmanship give it all the elegance of a sculpture. It beautifully embodies the concept of complex simplicity.

The folding lounge chair is ideal as an extra or permanent fixture. Its light, foldable frame can be hung on a wall or placed on a floor stand for convenient storage. Gøttler’s clean, easy aesthetic and well-considered form are apparent in every detail - exquisite comfort and close attention to craft, realised in high-quality materials.
