What makes a Design Classic Coffee Table? We feel that it is a piece of furniture that is so well designed that is as modern and relevant today as it was the day that was designed. It has, and will carry on to transcend fashion and is continually appealing. It is the benchmark by which all other modern coffee tables are measured.
At Innes, we are fortunate to sell a wide range of contemporary furniture that includes many pieces that are widely considered as "Design Classics", often coming from the mid-century era. Some iconic designs such as the Laccio Table by Marcel Breuer is much older, being designed back in 1924 and being based on the tubular design of a bicycle. Knoll updated it recently with the addition of new finishes to continue it lasting appeal.
A couple of examples of our most popular mid century design classics are Vitra's Noguchi Coffee Table and Knoll's Warren Platner Coffee Table, both of which combine a glass top with a beautifully designed base.
