A Design With History
The VL45 Radiohus Portable brings the rounded glass form of Vilhelm Lauritzen's Radiohus pendant to a cordless lamp. The original pendant was developed for Copenhagen's Danish Broadcasting House, Radiohuset, as part of Lauritzen's complete architectural scheme. Here, a compact base and leather carry strap make that familiar silhouette easy to move between a bedside table, dining setting and sheltered outdoor gathering.
Mouth-blown glass spreads a soft glow around the lamp, while the brass details give the simple form a warmer edge. The metal is lacquered to preserve its finish. Small differences in the colour of individually mouth-blown shades are part of their character.
Light & Finish
Dim-to-warm lighting shifts from 2700K towards a softer 1800K as the brightness is reduced. Choose smooth stepless dimming or four preset levels of 5%, 20%, 45% and 100%. The rechargeable battery provides approximately five hours of light at full brightness, and both the battery and LED unit can be replaced.
White Opal and Pale Rose pair lighter brass details with a light leather strap. Pale Yellow combines an aged-brass finish with a darker strap. All three have glossy mouth-blown glass shades and an IP44 rating for indoor and outdoor use.
